Dowling Houy was competitively selected to serve as the owner’s rep for SAPPI throughout their relocation project. Lease negotiations were underway for 1.5 floors of a mid-rise building in the Waterfront area of Boston. Dowling Houy contributed to the final stages of the lease and work letter negotiations, ensuring that SAPPI’s best interests were met and the maximum dollars towards build out were obtained.

Dowling Houy created and updated the project’s schedule and budget for the length of the project; attended and/or led all project meetings; supported IT planning, floor plan development and approvals; managed landlord relations; monitored furniture selections, scheduling, delivery, and installation through punch list; managed the RFP selection of  the mover, and special vendors including A/V, signage, and artwork; and provided move planning, move implementation, and post move management. Dowling Houy worked with the landlord to enable SAPPI to use its own architect rather than the landlord’s. Owning the General Contractor (GC) Services, the Landlord handled the RFP selection, but Dowling Houy vetted and added to the pre-approved pool of GC’s and ensured that SAPPI’s best interests were met.
